Why we added woven baskets to Kids Tribe!

Purchasing ethically sourced, environmentally friendly items helps empower talented artisans in their own enterprises; supports sustainable development; preserves traditional craft skills and practices. For this reason it was a natural fit for Kids Tribe. 

Our woven baskets have been hand selected are hand-woven by the people of Bolgatanga and surrounding African villages in Ghana. These beautiful woven baskets are made from sun dried elephant grass coloured with traditional natural dyes (plant or mineral) and/or contemporary non-toxic fabric dyes.

Bolga baskets are double woven to give them their renowned strength and durability. Leather trim provides reinforcement & style. Hand-made products may have characteristic blemishes that reflect the imperfections of human workmanship and add to their unique authenticity. We love our woven baskets and hope you do too.
